Entrances built for land, not driveways
Palestine sits about fifty miles southwest of our shop, and the work there is mostly land. Ranch entrances, acreage drives, pasture access and property lines where the gate has to handle a truck and trailer going through it, not just a car.
That changes the build. A ranch entrance needs a wider opening than a suburban drive, a frame that will not rack under its own weight at that width, and post settings that account for the load. Common questions
How wide can you build a double entrance gate?
Wide - but width is where frame design starts to matter, because a long gate leaf will sag under its own weight if it is not built for the span. We size the frame stock and bracing to the opening rather than using the same build at every width, which is what keeps a wide ranch gate hanging true.
Can you cut a ranch name or brand into the gate?
Yes. Cut lettering, brands and ornamental inserts in the top panel or an arch over the entrance are all things we fabricate in-house.
